Mission:

The mission of Selma High School is to provide our students with a variety of educational opportunities in a safe, nurturing, technologically-sound environment that enables them to become productive citizens and self-sufficient, lifelong learners in a global society.

Belief Statements:

·   Students’ learning needs are the primary focus of all decisions

    impacting the school environment

·  All students can learn and should be actively engaged in the

    learning process.

·  Each student is valued individual with unique physical, social,

    emotional, and  intellectual needs.

·  Students need to apply their learning in meaningful context.

·  Curriculum and instructional practices should incorporate

    adequate resources and technology to insure opportunities for

    success.

·  A safe and physically comfortable environment promotes student

    learning

·  Teachers, administrators, parents, and the community share the

     responsibility for advancing the school’s mission.

·  A mutual respect among students, staff and faculty enhances a

    student’s self-esteem.

·  The commitment to continuous improvement is imperative if our

    school is going to enable students to become productive citizens

    and  lifelong learners.
